Our Wish List

It would be great to have an empty page here, but, unfortunately, in these difficult financial times, we are in need of many things and would be very grateful to anyone who can help us out with any item on our Wish List.

1. In-kind office space with easy parking on premises or on-street – either use of it, or gifting it. Our geographic preference for in-kind use at this time, would be the East Side of Providence, Barrington, North Providence, Bristol, Cranston, Warwick, Cumberland, Greenville/Smithfield, North Kingstown, East Greenwich, and other Rhode Island locations. As for a “gift”, we would be grateful for any location, anywhere in the U.S.

Our biggest need is In-Kind office space. We are not yet in the financial position to be able to afford “rent”. We have been offered shared office space but, unfortunately, parking for the public would have been difficult in downtown Providence for that particular space. We would also consider a private home (or the first floor of a private home) as long as office use is allowed. There are many rentals out there that have had a “For Rent” sign for months on end. Instead of having a vacant office space, would you consider allowing us use of this space? Your accountant would be able to talk to you about any tax benefits – we are a 501(c)(3). In addition, we would also give you exposure on our website.

Of course, we would also be very grateful if someone who has a house (perhaps part of an estate?) they can part with would come forth and donate it (gift it) to the Alzheimer’s CURE Foundation, Inc. If it needs fixing, we may be able to get a grant to renovate it. Most of you might ask “who would donate an entire house to a non-profit” – and we think this is a long shot too, but are keeping our fingers crossed that such an “angel” may exist for us and come forward. After all, donating an estate or part of an estate to a charity is something that does happen every day. We would be fortunate not to ever have to worry about paying rent – ever. 2. We would be grateful for a good-quality, high-speed (at least 2Gigs of Ram) and with a good-size memory, lap-top. Our existing one is on it's last "toe", with many problems. A temporary "fix" would be a docking station with a platform for a Dell Inspiron 600m. Neither of these need to be new, but would appreciate if they are in excellent working order.

3. Our organization is in need of at least one PC, with a large memory and high speed, hopefully with at least the basic programs such as Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word.

4. Ink cartridges, both color and black, for a Dell 966 printer. We go through tons of ink in any given day and we try to print a lot of our flyers and brochures "in-house" to save money. The Dell cartridges (or refills) should be Series 7 (the numbers are CH883 for the Black and CH884 for the Color). We want to thank our dear friend and Advisor, Marlene Morgan, for her generosity last year. We have gone through all the ink cartridges and continue to need more. 

5. Copy paper of all kinds, compatible with ink-jet printing. We need everything from 24 lb. paper to heavier paper for our brochures – from matt to glossy. We also need 8.5 x 14 (legal size) to print our mini-posters.

6. Packages of address labels, including full-page labels that can be cut to any size you need, would be deeply appreciated. Some were donated in the past by our dear friend and Advisor, Marlene Morgan. Labels are in constant use, so this is an item we can never have enough of. Please keep us in mind because in a couple of months we will definitely need more. In the meantime, many thanks to you, Marlene!

7. Packages of Business card stationary (white or off white) would be appreciated.

8. As you can see from above, we do all our printing in-house to save money. If a printer would like to donate his services to us we would be most grateful. We also need a banner with our logo in addition to brochures, business cards, address labels, etc.

9. Any other miscellaneous type of office supplies are also welcome. 

10. An external hard-drive at least 100 GB.

11. We are in a real need for the volunteer services of a grantwriter and an event planner.

12. We need a Corporate Car. We were fortunate to have one donated to us in 2007, a 1997 Honda Accord, that was a blessing for us, but now it has about 250,000 miles and things are starting to break down. We don't need a 2010 Mercedes, but a newer car, in excellent condition with low mileage would be appreciated. As a matter-of-fact, we would prefer a car that gets over 30 miles per gallon (the more, the better). Gasoline Gift Cards would also be appreciated.

This is just a tiny example of the things we need most. We are also in need of tons of other supplies and services but we are trying to keep this short. If you think there is something we might be able to use, just ask us.
